Al Hosn app: how does it work?
With Al Hosn, it’s easier for authorities to track contacts nationally, so they can prevent Covid-19 from spreading.
With the tracking feature enabled, authorities can alert you to self-isolate if you come close to someone with a positive test result.
Aside from storing your Covid-19 results, the app also alerts you when you have a positive result.
Using this app, you can also prove your status in the UAE by storing evidence of your Covid-19 vaccination doses.
A vaccination travel certificate can be generated via the Al Hosn app if you travel abroad.
What is the procedure for downloading it?
A free version of Al Hosn can be downloaded from Apple’s App Store, Google Play Store, and Samsung’s Galaxy Store. To get al hosn app on Huawei device, you will find it in Huawei App Gallery.
Your phone number will be used to authenticate your identity when you register, and an OTP will be sent to your phone so that you can verify it.
To use the app for tracing, your smartphone needs to be set up with Bluetooth and push notifications.
To install Al Hosn app, you must have an internet connection.
Data used by this app will not count against your quota since it is allowed by telecom operators.
The Al Hosn app works in what way?
Using Bluetooth technology, the app records and sends signals to others nearby who also have the app.
Al Hosn’s website describes Bluetooth signals as a mechanism for exchanging anonymized data and timestamps.
A user’s anonymous data is stored on their phone in an encrypted form for three weeks before being permanently deleted.
No personally identifiable information is collected during the entire process.
An anonymous ID and time stamp from the past 21 days will be requested by the health authority to trace contact information in the case of someone who tested positive for Covid-19.
Health authorities then analyze the data and inform those at risk based on the results.
Does Al Hosn app need to be installed?
Expatriates returning home from abroad must download the app before entering the UAE.
In addition, since February 1, Dubai-bound travelers need to prove they have tested positive for Coronavirus with the Al Hosn app.
Until this week, visitors to Dubai’s bars, clubs, concerts, or sports matches will have to supply proof of vaccination if they want to enter the premises.
